Questions/Answers

Taking Assessments

How are assessment scores calculated?

Assessment scores are calculated using a complex scoring algorithm, which considers both the number of questions answered correctly, and the level of difficulty associated with each correct response.

What do I do if my Internet connection fails during an assessment?

Assessments may halt without warning due to a connection failure. In this case, ensure you have an Internet connection and return to MyCareer. Use the re-entry code provided in MyCareer to resume your assessment.

What is a re-entry code and how is it used?

For each assessment that is not finished, a re-entry code is provided in the Take a Test area. It allows someone to resume an assessment wherever it stopped. To use it, select the assessment to resume in MyCareer and then enter the re-entry code. It will resume wherever it stopped. A new re-entry code is generated each time an assessment is stopped. There are a maximum of three re-entries per assessment; a fourth attempt will cause all remaining questions to be marked as incorrect.

Can an assessment be paused and restarted?

Yes. To pause an assessment, close the Internet browser. To resume, return to MyCareer and use the re-entry code provided for that assessment in the Take a Test area.
