CONNECT is a partnership of public higher education institutions in Southeastern Massachusetts: Bridgewater State College, Bristol Community College, Cape Cod Community College, Massasoit Community College, and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
This partnership has two goals: to improve the quality, accessibility, and affordability of higher education; and to advance the economic, educational and cultural life of Southeastern Massachusetts. To help CONNECT best serve the community, a Regional Leaders Council was formed which includes key leaders from five primary clusters: Pre K–12 education; health and human services; government and public affairs; business and industry; arts and culture. The Connect Skill Center was in part developed to address the educational and training needs at a regional level, as articulated by the Council at a meeting with CONNECT chief executive officers.
Representing all three levels of state higher education (community college, four–year college, and university) the CONNECT institutions offer a wide array of educational opportunities to students in Southeastern Massachusetts. All classes – including online, day, evening or weekend – are offered at venues meeting the needs of students, many of whom are balancing family and work responsibilities. Whether the goal is to improve a specific skill, or to complete a certificate, associate's, bachelor's or graduate degree, the CONNECT institutions address the educational and training needs of the students and citizens of Southeastern Massachusetts.
